When the boys and girls track teams from Algona High School competed in the Iowa High School Track & Field Championships, they earned a donation from Iowa State Bank of $1,208 thanks to the support of fans and the bank.

Since 2018, Iowa State Bank of Algona has carried the baton when student-athletes punch their ticket to state. Here’s how it works: the bank’s logo is featured on fundraiser apparel, and for every item sold, the school earns a donation from the bank.

Since the program’s inception, Iowa State Bank has donated over $46,000 to support Algona High School student-athletes across multiple sports. “We started this program back when the seniors on these teams were in fifth grade—and it’s been a joy to watch them grow and succeed,” said Laurie Vitzthum, Chairman, CEO & President of Iowa State Bank. “We’re proud to celebrate our students and to support our local schools.”
