When it comes to customer service, Tana Schultze seems to have a natural touch. Although her career didn’t begin in banking—she originally studied massage therapy—Tana found her way to Iowa State Bank in Algona, where she now serves as a Personal Banker and Consumer Lender.

What started as what she thought might be a temporary position quickly grew into a meaningful career. Along the way, Tana has embraced opportunities for growth, including attending the Iowa School of Banking, where she recently completed her first year. She enjoys helping customers find solutions tailored to their unique situations. “I enjoy creating solutions based on each customer’s needs,” she shared. “For example, a car loan can feel overwhelming for a young customer, but I enjoy guiding them through the process and finding a solution that fits their lifestyle and makes financial sense.”

Outside of work, Tana’s creative side shines through her love of crafting—something that reflects her thoughtful and personalized approach to customer service. Since joining Iowa State Bank in 2012, she has appreciated both the challenges and the support she has received along the way. “The bank has encouraged me to keep growing,” she said. One piece of advice she carries with her is, “Do it now—sometimes later becomes never.”

At home, Tana and her husband, Ben, stay busy raising their three daughters. As a family, they enjoy spending time outdoors whenever they can, especially camping, fishing, and swimming. In quieter moments, Tana enjoys relaxing with a good book.
