After attending a designer purse bingo fundraising event several years ago, Amy was moved by the Foundation’s work to help those battling cancer. The Foundation provides support to individuals battling cancer in Kossuth County through comfort items, grocery & gas gifts cards and other meaningful assistance to patients, families and caregivers.
“Cancer affects nearly every person at some point in their lifetime,” Amy shared. “I love being a part of something that recognizes the struggles of these individuals and families and lets them know that there are people who care.”
That passion soon led Amy to join the Foundation’s board of directors, where she now serves as treasurer and helps lead fundraising efforts. The Foundation relies heavily on community generosity—private donations, local business support, and two annual fundraisers—to continue its work.
“Our fundraising events are electric,” Amy said. “Seeing supporters, survivors and caregivers come together for an evening of reflection and fun is such an amazing thing to watch.”
In 2025, the Kossuth County Cancer Support Foundation assisted 86 individuals, providing $44,000 in support to county residents battling cancer. To learn more or stay updated on upcoming fundraising events, visit the Foundation’s Facebook page.
