Employees of Iowa State Bank are hosting a charity garage sale on Friday, May 30 from 4:30 until 6:30 PM at 216 N. Thorington St., Algona. The location is directly north of the Main Bank in Algona.
The bank's employee-operated charity, the ISB Community Crusaders, will host the annual sale that includes household miscellaneous items and children's clothing. There will be NO adult clothing at this sale. "All of the treasures are gently-used items donated by the employees and their families," stated Crusaders co-chair Brianna Marso. "You'll find home decor, holiday decorations, kids' clothing, and miscellaneous household items at the sale," she said. Employees continue to bring items up until sale time. All items are priced by free-will donation with proceeds passed on to local charities.
"All of the sale proceeds are donated to local charities chosen by bank employees," remarked garage sale co-chair Amy Wolter. Past donations include the backpack buddies program for area schools, the Kossuth Co. Cancer Support Foundation, Shayla Bee, and others," she continued.
"Employees donate the items, work the sale, and choose the local charities for the proceeds," remarked JoAnn Conrad, co-chair of the sale event. "It is great way for our employees to be get together and help others," she said.
There are no pre-sales, and all items must be removed on the sale day.
